 Living in Ferniegair

Ferniegair is a village located in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The village is just 2 miles away from the larger town of Hamilton, where residents can take advantage of the shopping centres, supermarkets and outdoor sport facilities, as well as other useful amenities.

The village also contains the entrance to Chatelherault Country Park, built in 1732 as a hunting lodge and summer house for the Dukes of Hamilton. Visitors can take a look around the visitor centre and exhibition gallery, as well as enjoy scenic walks through ancient woodland and along the River Avon. The entrance to Hamilton Golf Club can also be found in Ferniegair - perfect for anybody who enjoys the sport.

Named after the country park, Chatelherault railway station can also be found in Ferniegair. Services run direct through to Glasgow every half hour, and take just 30 minutes to get there, whilst other services will see you through to Motherwell, East Kilbride and Edinburgh
