Living in Rosewell

Rosewell is a former mining village located in Midlothian, Scotland. Today Rosewell is a charming village, noted for its wonderful small-town atmosphere.

Residents of Rosewell can take advantage of living closeby to the Penicuik- Dalkeith walkway, which covers 9.5 miles of the former Edinburgh to Peebles railway. The gentle gradient of the walk makes the route a great choice for anyone looking to take in the historic towns and villages of Midlothian, and is a wonderful way of getting to know the area.

The village of Roswell is well served by bus, and residents can catch the bus to Edinburgh every 20 minutes. For those looking to drive however, Edinburgh lies 12 miles away and is just a half hour drive away - ideal for those looking to commute for work, or those just simply wanting to pay the city a visit.

Also in the village are two primary schools, Rosewell Primary School and St Matthew’s Primary School. Rosewell also falls into the catchment area for two high schools, Lasswade High School and St David’s Catholic High School - useful amenities for those looking to move with children and teens.
