New Homes Week Launch For North Yorkshire Village Homes

Savvy buyers can be among the first to view Redrow’s new Churchfields development, in Green Hammerton, later this month.

Sales will be opened May 20, which falls within New Homes Week, supported by the Home Builders Federation (HBF).

Award-winning developer Redrow will welcome visitors to its new 8.76 acre site, off Harrogate Road, to learn more about the 86 new homes to be built.

“We have paid particular attention to the design of our houses at Churchfields to ensure that they reflect and complement existing homes in the area,” said Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire).

“While the new homes are based on our popular Arts & Crafts influenced Heritage Collection, we have made subtle changes to the styles to reflect the fact that the development is next to a Conservation Area. An example of this is the addition of chimneys to complement existing properties.

“We’ve also retained all of the trees that are subject to Tree Preservation Orders, ensuring that they add to the look and feel of the development; and we substantially  reduced the number of houses originally planned as a result of local feedback.”

Of the 86 homes being built, 52 are for private sale, including three and four-bedroom detached family homes and some two-bed terraces. The balance of the site will be 34 affordable properties to help ensure local people can continue to live and work in the area.

Churchfields offers the chance to be part of an established close knit community, to which Redrow has committed to provide a host of key benefits, including £278,000 towards education provision, £39,000 for bus/metro travel cards and a cycleway contribution of £29,000.

Ideally located just off the A59 between Harrogate (10 miles) and York (eight miles), Churchfields is just to the west of the village, within walking distance of the local primary school, and only a mile from Hammerton train station. As a result, would-be owners can enjoy all the pleasures of village life - including the friendly local pub and quaint shops - while remaining within easy reach of the excellent facilities of York, Harrogate and Knaresborough.

“It is interesting that Churchfields opens during the HBF’s New Homes Week,” says Patsy. “The week focuses on telling people about the benefits of buying a new-build home, including great designs, top quality specifications, energy efficiency, low running costs and the peace of mind of a 10 year warranty.

“We’ll be open in time for the weekend of May 20/21, which organisers have earmarked for people to visit their nearest new homes development – and they don’t get any newer than Churchfields!”

Initial reservations will be taken ‘off-plan’ until Redrow introduces two fully furnished show homes later this year. However would-be home owners can view existing Redrow developments in York, Harrogate and Sherburn-in-Elmet if they wish to get a good idea of the quality and lifestyle they can expect.
