Redrow's Winter Wonderland At Woodford

Redrow is inviting visitors to walk in a winter wonderland in Woodford and raise money for a great local cause.

The event, ‘Woodford Winter Wonderland’, will be held at the Woodford Garden Village development close to Bramhall in Stockport on Wednesday December 14 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

The local community will get the chance to join in the festive fun with a special visit from Father Christmas and enjoy Yuletide treats like hot chocolate and delicious spicy mulled wine. All proceeds will go to Millie’s Trust, a charity which aims to make first aid training accessible to all.

Joanne Thompson, who set up the charity with her husband Dan after their nine-month old daughter Millie tragically passed away after a choking incident at nursery, said: “We’re delighted that Redrow has chosen Millie’s Trust to raise money for. It sounds like it will be a lovely family friendly event. We’ll be bringing along our mascot so children will also have the chance to meet Georgie the Giraffe too.”

Carols and Christmas music will be courtesy of the Northwich Pop Choir and the Hazel Grove Brass Band.

The evening will be attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport Cllr Chris Gordon and Dr Margaret Gordon and there will also be marquees and raffles, and a host of activities to get everyone into the holiday mood. Additionally, Redrow’s beautiful Woodford homes will be on show.

Woodford Garden Village is a flagship scheme for Redrow, on the site of the old Woodford Aerodrome. It will eventually feature around 950 new homes - three, four and five-bedroom - large amounts of green open space and a wealth of brand new facilities, including provision for a £3.5 million primary school.

“It’s the first garden village of its kind in the region for decades and one that will provide a lifestyle unlike any other,” said Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW).  “Which is why we are delighted to host a special Christmas event  here.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to get the community together and have fun while raising money for a good cause. And, of course, it gives people the chance to see this very special development.

“We would just like to invite as many people as possible to join us,” he added.

Woodford is situated in the middle of the larger towns and villages of Handforth, Bramhall and Poynton, each with a good selection of local amenities. It is five miles from Stockport, and close to road and rail links to the nearby city of Manchester and the whole of the North West.

A Woodford Christmas Wonderland will be held at Woodford Garden Village on Chester Road, on Wednesday December 14, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. All proceeds will go to Millie’s Trust.

A show home village featuring seven different house types is open to view seven days a week, from 11am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday, and 12pm to 5pm on Monday.
