We Prefer Swan Princesses To Swans-A-Swimming

Several beautiful bedrooms for your girls, big or small!

As we all know, the seventh day of Chrsitmas brings with it seven swans-a-swimming.

The first thought that pops in to our head when we think of swans, is the classic story, The Swan Princess.

What better inspiration for decorating your daughters' bedrooms. Especially if you are looking to avoid the clichés of pink, purple and princesses (at least in the Disney sense).

So take a look at some of these gorgeous ideas for your girls – big or small!

Swan Princess Room

Inspired the by Swan Lake, a story Odette – a princess cursed to life as a swan, this stunning wallpaper from Laura Ashely is a perfect choice for an aspiring ballerina. The eclectic mix of greys and baby pinks sprinkled with touches of silver and white will create a girly yet grown up feel to the room and is perfect across a number of age’s groups.

  Starry Eyes

Using big bold prints has been a big trend of 2015. We love this bold but dreamy star print found in Flaxton Court from Miller Homes. The use of neutral, clean colours will really complement the style of your new home whilst the print will add warmth and fun to the room. Add plenty of textures to add warmth and luxury to the room.

Fairy Tale Murals

You can find this masterpiece at The Orwell by Miller Homes, part of their Flaxton Court development

You can still create a grown up feel to a little girl’s room without going princess over board! Try creating this stunning Rapunzel mural or use the same idea to create any of your little girl’s favourite film characters.

Unless you are feeling confident with a GSCE in Art under your belt then it is probably worth investing in a professional to create a stencil or doing the work for you.

A Storybook Classic

This bedroom design is from the show home at The Green development in Horsforth Vale by Redrow Homes.

Storybook character don’t need to be confined to a nursery. Create a chic feel to your girl’s room with a beautiful feature wall and associated accessories. We love this Wind in the Willows room as seen at The Green at Horsforth Vale from Redrow Homes; complete with oars.

Try creating your own with characters from other literary classics such as Beatrix Potter, Charlotte’s Web and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
