Agreement To Build New Homes With Super fast Broadband

Openreach and the Home Builders Federation have agreed a deal with the Government to begin supplying super fast broadband connectivity to new build homes reports Computer Weekly

The deal follows a recent investigation by broadband website cable.co.uk which revealed that some residents moving into new build homes had faced waits of up to six week before receiving a basic broadband service. The new deal is designed to remedy some of these delays.

The new agreement states that Openreach will introduce an online planning tool for home builders indicating whether properties in a given area can be connected to broadband services free or charge, or if the developer will need to jointly fund a new network build.
