Number Of Affordable New Homes Jumps By 55%

The Guardian reports that the Department for Communities and Local Government figures reveal more than 66,000 affordable homes were built in England over 2014-15. However, there was a decline in properties available for social rent.

These affordable homes were reportedly made up of a combination of new build homes and those bought by housing associations and councils.

Head to the Guardian's website to find out more about this increase and the main drivers behind it.
