Redrow Kits Out New Junior Football Team

Sponsorship from Redrow has enabled a Staffordshire based junior football team to kick of its first season in style.

The award-winning housebuilder has teamed up with Brewood Juniors Under Sevens to provide training and match day kits, plus footballs for the nine children in the squad.

Team manager Anthony Marandola explained: “This group of children only started training together last May and are now playing in their first season of the Walsall Junior Youth Football League. The sponsorship from Redrow has given them a real boost. They not only look the part wearing their kits for training and on match days, but it promotes a sense of togetherness and team spirit. It also means that we can focus on improving their football ability without having to worry about fundraising.”

The team of six and seven-year-olds includes Casey Cheal, whose dad Danny works for Redrow Homes (Midlands) as land director.

The children play their matches at various locations throughout the Walsall district on specially adapted 3G pitches.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), said: “Offering support to sports teams is just one of the ways we’re building links with local communities. When we heard that Danny’s son was involved with a local team and they were looking for a sponsor we were happy to help.”
