VIP Celebration at Ebbsfleet Garden City

The Mayor of Dartford Cllr Rosanna Currans helped lead celebrations to mark Redrow’s progress at Ebbsfleet Green, part of the first garden city for 100 years.

Chris Lilley, managing director for Redrow Homes (South East) welcomed a crowd of around 100 people, including local dignitaries, businesses, suppliers and contractors to Ebbsfleet Green for a special afternoon of celebration; with drinks, canapés and music, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and tours of the spectacular show homes.

Speaking at the event, Chris said: “Ebbsfleet Garden City is the first garden city in Britain for one hundred years and we’re incredibly proud to play our part in this flagship scheme. Over the next two decades it will evolve into a new community where up to 15,000 much-needed new homes will be built.

“We are honoured to be a part of this new garden city and we’re fully invested in its success, here, at Ebbsfleet Green, where our first phase of 180 homes is well underway. There will be something for everyone – apartments, starter homes and family homes – but most importantly, it will be a place people will be proud to call home.”

For its part, Redrow will build around 900 homes along with green open spaces, pathways and cycle routes, and with all the amenities those residents need including a pub/restaurant and hotel, neighbourhood food store, places for sport and recreation, allotments, a park and a primary school.

The wider scheme will also include a vibrant new commercial centre, creating more than 30,000 new jobs, plus new businesses, education, research and development and leisure and recreational facilities close to Ebbsfleet International Station.

Capitalising on Ebbsfleet’s landscape of quarries and lakes, the garden city will also feature seven new city parks.

Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Rosanna Currans said: “Ebbsfleet Garden City is a landmark development that will bring much needed new homes as well as a whole host of community benefits that will make this a fantastic place to live, work, rest and play. It’s great to be able to witness the vast amount of hard work and collaboration that has gone into creating this new community so far, and to celebrate Redrow’s progress at Ebbsfleet Green.”

To date, Redrow has sold 60 of the contemporary Abode style homes,  plus 20 homes from the Arts & Crafts influenced Heritage Collection.

Potential purchasers are encouraged to create My Redrow accounts via the housebuilder’s website so that they can make appointments with the sales team and be notified of new releases.
