How To Use New Home Finder

This blog is designed to help you get the most out of using New Home Finder to find your first, or even your next home.

What Is New Home Finder?

New Home Finder is an independent property portal that is dedicated to helping you find the right new build home for you. We decided to focus on only new homes to help you cut out the second hand homes, giving you a pool of possible properties that are already tailored to your key search criteria of being new.

It has also allowed us to develop our website to suit the specific needs of new home buyers, such as supplying new home only Government offers and new home only advice and tips.

This blog is designed to help you get the most out of using New Home Finder to find your first, or even your next home. It covers how our search functionality works and what other tools we have available to help you, so without further ado…

House Search

As soon as you land on the New Home Finder homepage, you’ll see our search bar. Here you can simply enter a location or postcode and get started browsing through the relevant homes, but if you prefer, you can refine your search even further, to include the maximum price you can afford, the minimum number of bedrooms you need and the sort of house you’re looking for.

You can even adjust the distance you’re prepared to you homes over as large or as small an area as you like, based on a central postcode. All these options are designed to help you see homes that are as specific or as generic as you’re interested in.

However, this search bar isn’t the only way to get started with New Home Finder, if you hover over the “new home search” tab on our main menu at the top of your page, a drop down menu reveals a few more options.

You can also choose to start your home search by

selecting a particular homebuilder and then once all these developments have been listed for you, you can sort by the distance from your perfect postcode. There is also a toggle to switch between a map view and list view of all these homes.

Alternatively you can jump straight into the city or county of your choice and then use the drop down menus to drive down into an even more specific area, such as a particular suburb or village. Finally, you can also browse homes based on their development type such as retirement developments or affordable housing.

Property Valuation Tool

If you’re already on the property ladder, you might be interested in using our property valuation tool. All you need to do is complete the simple form to provide accurate details about your current home. You will then receive 3 valuations: one low, one high and one in the middle to reflect the sale price you could get for your home, depending on how buoyant the housing market is.

You can then use this information to determine how much you might be able to spend on a new home and then set your search criteria to only show houses under that figure.

The tool is powered by Property Price Advice, so you can rest assured that the valuations you receive come from an accredited source, capable of delivering accurate information.

New Home Buying Guide

Our new home buying guide is a quick download which gives you the key steps you need to complete in order to successfully buy and move into a new home. It features a printable checklist on the final page so you can keep track of what you need to do and through the guide there are a number of useful links to help educate you on that particular part of buying a home.

New Home Info

Many of the articles in our New Home Buying Guide can also be found in our New Home Info section. There are three key areas in this section of our website: latest articles, Jess’s diary and latest news.

Our articles are essentially blog posts. Many are written by the team at New Home Finder, but we also have contributions from other industry experts and of course our home builders. This means you can rest assured that the information here is well researched and well prepared, giving you the correct information. These articles are split into key categories which you can select from the drop down menu or you can try a keyword search if you’re looking for something more specific.

Jess’s diary is a collection of more personal blog posts written by award winning blogger Jess Soothill, who is perhaps better known as Mummy Of Boy Girl Twins. This section is, as the name suggests, a weekly diary reliving her own experience buying and moving into a new build home after selling her old home in Wales. Its gives a personal insight into the home buying journey as well as some personal insights and advice from Jess herself.

Finally our news section is exactly that: news. These are short form articles designed to give you a quick overview of some of the key developments in the UK housing marketing.
