Developer Information

We’ve been building quality new build homes since 1958, and are now recognised as the highest quality national house builder.

We established the first Barratt property development company in Newcastle upon Tyne and grew the business steadily, laying the foundation for the growth that followed. We were listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1968.

In 1972, a programme of rapid expansion followed, seeing a series of acquisitions and the creation of new companies.

Local Area

The Maples is easy accessible from the A19. Head west bound on the A184 from Testos roundabout, take the first slip road onto the Whitemare Poole roundabout and take the 3rd exit onto Leam Lane. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto B1306. At the mini roundabout take the second exit onto Monkton Lane. Continue down Monkton Lane until you arrive at Barratt The Maples (opposite to the playing fields).
Shoppers can also explore boutique stores and antique specialists at the nearby market towns of Whitburn, Cleadon and Boldon, or enjoy discounted top-name brands at the Royal Quays Outlet Centre at North Shields.
Newcastle, just a short journey from Hebburn, is a vibrant city packed with things to see and do: shops, theatres, bars and restaurants, sporting venues, historic buildings and galleries. The Metrocentre, one of the UKs biggest shopping centres, is based in nearby Gateshead and offers big name shops, restaurants, a cinema and leisure arcades under one roof.
St Joseph's RC Voluntary Aided Comprehensive School, Toner Avenue Primary School and Lukes Lane Community School are just are few of the schools close to The Maples.
The Maples is ideal for commuting as it is close to the A19, A194 and A184. There is a regular bus service from Marine Drive and Hebburn and Fellgate metro stations are close by.
