Developer Information

We established the first Barratt property development company in Newcastle upon Tyne and grew the business steadily, laying the foundation for the growth that followed. We were listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1968.

In 1972, a programme of rapid expansion followed, seeing a series of acquisitions and the creation of new companies.

During the 1990s the Barratt Group grew organically, establishing an unrivalled track record of consistent growth. In April 2007, Barratt acquired Wilson Bowden PLC and today has a network of 25 housebuilding divisions throughout Britain, selling new build homes under the Barratt, David Wilson and Ward Homes brands.

Local Area

The Avenue can be reached via the A43. The development is on the outskirts of the villages Moulton and Overstone just outside of Northampton.
There are a good number of choices for you to shop, Northampton town centre is only 15 minutes away while you could travel to Centre:mk in Milton Keynes where there are hundreds of shops and restaurants to explore.
Overstone Park Hotel is close by and is a popular golf and leisure resort. There's then the Beckworth Emporium offerng afternoon tea and evening entertainment including a selection of world, British and independent movies. For something more active Sywell Country Park is available for a family day out.
There are plans for a new primary school to be built on the development, while until then the village of Moulton provides eduactional facilities for all ages. Overstone also offer two primary schools also.
The Avenue is just 8 miles north of the M1, in the corridor between the A43, which is 2 miles to the west, and the A508 which is 1.5 miles to the east. Northampton's train station is only a 10 minute drive away, from here you can take a train southbound to London Euston or northbound to Birmingham New Street.
