Developer Information

We established the first Barratt property development company in Newcastle upon Tyne and grew the business steadily, laying the foundation for the growth that followed. We were listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1968.

In 1972, a programme of rapid expansion followed, seeing a series of acquisitions and the creation of new companies.

The Chimes - LE11 2HX From the M1, take the exit for junction 22. Take the 4th exit at the roundabout onto A511, at the 2nd roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Copt Oak Road/B591, turning onto Beacon Road/B591, continue then take a left onto Loughborough Road. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Terry Yardley Way/A6004, then the 2nd exit onto Allandale Road and you will come across The Chimes.
Loughborough has a variety of shops, including a Post Office, florist and plenty of eateries. The Chimes also has a Co-op store for everyday food shopping and a larger supermarket Tesco Extra nearby. The Loughborough Town Centre is just down the road with a shopping center and plenty of other shops available.
You’ll find a cinema, Charnwood golf & leisure complex and plenty to enjoy in Loughborough town centre, which has great places to eat. Local pubs include The Manor House at Quorn and The Quorndon Fox Loughborough has a variety of attractions nearby with five museums, the largest being the centrally located Charnwood Museum, there’s also the Heritage Great Central Railway and the Manor Farm & Woodlands.
Loughborough offers some excellent options for schooling in the area including Loughborough Grammar School, Loughborough High School and Loughborough College.
The Chimes is ideally located with good transport links. The M1 motorway junction to the north and south are easily accessible as well as the A6. Loughborough railway station is just 10 minutes away, where you can catch direct trains and arrive at London St Pancras in just 90 minutes.
