Developer Information

We established the first Barratt property development company in Newcastle upon Tyne and grew the business steadily, laying the foundation for the growth that followed. We were listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1968.

In 1972, a programme of rapid expansion followed, seeing a series of acquisitions and the creation of new companies.

Local Area

Take the A500 towards Crewe and follow the road over four roundabouts. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the A5301 (Peter Destapleigh Way). Follow the road as it becomes the A529 (Audlem Road) and after approximately 200 metres turn left onto the A530 (Park Road) signposted to Whitchurch. Continue along the A530 which becomes the A525 (Shropshire Lane). Go straight over at the roundabout onto the B5398 and take the second exit at the next roundabout onto Brownlow Street. At the next roundabout take the second exit and at the roundabout immediately after take the second exit onto the B5476 (Tarporley Road). The entrance to the Mounts is on the left after approximately 300 metres.
Walk just 10 minutes and you'll reach the market town of Whitchurch. Here you'll find a wide variety of local shops such as a post office, Sainsburys and Tesco. Chester is only 17 miles away where youll find independent shops, designer boutiques and highstreet favourites such as H&M, Debenhams, Oasis and The White Company.
If youre a sport enthusiast there are a number of golf courses nearby including one just to the north of the town. There are also numerous sports clubs to join as well as singing and drama groups. For those why enjoy the fresh air, head to Whitchurch Waterways Country Park and Sandstone Trail that runs along the canal.
Whitchurch is a perfect location to bring up a family, in a safe and pleasant environment. You will not need to travel far to school as there is a primary school located in the town and a secondary school on the outskirts.
Living at The Mounts will give you access to the motorway network via junction 15 or 16 of the M6 which are around 35 minutes away, opening up the UK to the north and south. The Mounts is conveniently placed to give you quick access to several A roads which lead to major towns and cities including Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent, Chester and Shrewsbury. The town also has its own train station which provides eas
