Developer Information

We established the first Barratt property development company in Newcastle upon Tyne and grew the business steadily, laying the foundation for the growth that followed. We were listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1968.

In 1972, a programme of rapid expansion followed, seeing a series of acquisitions and the creation of new companies.

During the 1990s the Barratt Group grew organically, establishing an unrivalled track record of consistent growth. In April 2007, Barratt acquired Wilson Bowden PLC and today has a network of 25 housebuilding divisions throughout Britain, selling new build homes under the Barratt, David Wilson and Ward Homes brands.

Local Area

From the M6 J15, take the A500 and then the A34 slip road to Newcastle-under-Lyme/Stone. Take the 3rd exit onto Stone Road (A34). At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Longton Road (A5035). Turn right off Longton Road onto Barlaston Road and then take the left turn onto Wedgwood Drive. Wedgwood Park is located after approximately a quarter of a mile on the left.
Wedgwood Park is perfectly placed to enjoy some of the best shopping locations. Visit The Potteries in Hanley and enjoy a mix of high street stores and cafes. Or, head to Birmingham and treat yourself at The Mailbox, Selfridges or The Bullring. Alternatively visit the Trafford Centre in Manchester, Liverpool One or Cheshire Oaks.
Wedgwood Park is a superb location for outdoor pursuits and healthy lifestyles. Enjoy a round of golf at Barlaston Golf Club, a game of cricket in the village or a country walk in the 'Downs Banks'. For family days out you'll be spoilt for choice - visit the Italianate gardens at Trentham Gardens, walk with Barbary Macaques at Monkey World or have a fun filled day out at Alton Towers Resort.
Education is well catered for with a number of good schools located near to Wedgwood Park. Barlaston CofE First School, Ash Green Primary School and Newstead Primary School are nearby. St Joseph's College, just north of Trentham, recently received an 'Outstanding' Oftsed rating. For independent education, Yarlet Private School for boys and St Dominic's Priory for girls, are both located nearby.
The area itself benefits from excellent motorway links - the M6 can be reached within 15 minutes with links through to the Midlands and beyond. Rail travelers are well served, with direct trains running frequently from Stoke to London and up to the North West. For international travel, both Manchester and Birmingham airports are within easy reach.
