Living in Bishopbriggs

Bishopbriggs is an affluent suburb, located just 5 miles from the city centre of Glasgow. Having been voted as the second most desirable postcode in Scotland to live, in 2015 and 2016 respectively, it’s no wonder that Bishopbriggs has become a popular location for those looking for a new home in Scotland.

Despite its proximity to Glasgow, Bishopbriggs is noted for having retained its own identity, one that is maintained by a thriving community and a mix of shops and restaurants found in the town centre. Local businesses can also be found at Huntershill Village, such as coffee shops and a garden centre. Bishopbriggs is also home to not one, but three golf courses - ideal for anybody looking to take up the sport or for more experienced players. Bishopbriggs also has one of the best leisure centres in the whole of Scotland - impressive for a suburb to Scotland’s largest city.

The town lies at a junction on the M80 motorway, which runs from Glasgow to Stirling, and which also connects with roads that travel through to Edinburgh. Stirling can be reached in little over half an hour, whilst Edinburgh is an hour and a half drive away by car. The town also has both rail and bus services, and is only a half hour drive from Glasgow airport.
