Living In Bridgwater

Bridgwater lies just to the west of the M5 motorway, between the Bridgwater Bay National Nature Reserve and the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a market town in Somerset and has a history as a major UK port and today the legacy of that industry still remains.

In the town you'll find the Somerset Brick and Tile Museum, the alleged birth place of Robert Blake, The Bridgwater Arts Centre and you can also glimpse the Willow Man sculpture, sometimes known as The Angel of the South from the M5 motorway near Bridgwater.

As well as all these attractions, Bridgwater is perhaps best known for its illuminated Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival which takes place annually. The town also hosts a fun fair ranked as the second largest in England.

Taunton is just 30 minutes by car of only 15 minutes by rail from Bridgwater and Weston-Super-Mare is just over half an hour by car or 20 minutes by train to the north.
