  Living in Falmouth

Falmouth is a town on the south coast of Cornwall. Having been listed by the Sunday Times as one of the best places to live in the south west in its prestigious best places to live guide, now is the perfect time to find your new home in Falmouth.

Residents and visitors of Falmouth alike speak of its vibrant community, where you can both live and work all whilst embracing the charm of living by the Cornish coast year round. There is plenty to see and do in Falmouth, such as visiting its top quality shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The town is also home to a thriving art scene, and has long held the reputation of being an artistic town. Falmouth Art Gallery is award winning, and one of the leading art galleries in the south west - with free admission, it’s well worth a visit. Furthermore, many of the venues which have featured on the coolest places to hang out in Cornwall have been based in Falmouth, which speaks volumes for the town. Beautiful architecture and rich history can also be found within the town - most notably residents and visitors of Falmouth can visit Pendennis Castle, now in the care of English Heritage. Built by Henry VIII after he realised the potential of Falmouth’s location, this too is a destination well worthy of a visit.

Falmouth is also home to five primary schools and one secondary school, as well as a university which is largely responsible for the flow of people through the town, and which gives Falmouth its vibrancy. The town has three railway stations, and trains run through to Truro twice hourly taking just 25 minutes where other mainline services can be picked up - perfect for those looking to commute or pay a visit to Cornwall’s county town and only city.
