   Living in Haddington

Haddington is a small town set amongst agricultural country in East Lothian, Scotland. Agriculture has long been the source of the town’s prosperity, and today locals still enjoy the Farmer’s market that takes place on the last Saturday of each month.

The town of Haddington has a good mix of shops for residents to take advantage of, as well as cafes and restaurants. Also to be admired in the town is the impressive architecture on display, most notably the 1748 Town House designed by William Adam. St Mary’s Collegiate Church is also noteworthy, and is one of the three great pre-formation churches in the Lothians. Just a mile away from Haddington you’ll also find Lennoxlove House, a stately home that also has an excellent art collection.

Bus services connect the town through to the city of Edinburgh, as well as other towns and villages in East Lothian. Edinburgh is also only around a half hours drive by car, perfect for those looking to commute to the city for work or those just wanting to pay a visit.
