  Living in Newquay

Newquay is a town on the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall.

A town famous for surfing, it is often considered to be the surf capital of the UK, and is a centre for the surf industry. Central to the town’s surfing status is Fistral Beach and it is here where the Boardmasters surfing championships are held annually. The town is also home to a number of other beaches all renowned for their cleanliness, such as Towan and Tolcarne, and are all great spots to build sandcastles or take advantage of the world class waves. However don’t be tricked into thinking all there is to do in Newquay is surf - there is plenty of other things to see and do in the town. The Blue Reef Aquarium is a great day out, especially for families, where marine species from the Cornish Coast as well as tropical species can be admired. You can also find in Newquay Cornwall’s largest zoo, home to over a hundred species and where you can learn more about the importance of wildlife conservation. The high street is also dotted with lovely cafes as well as quality bars and restaurants, and the town in recent years has become an ‘in demand’ location for top quality chefs looking to open up their new restaurants - so there is plenty more to come!

The town has its own railway station which mostly handles local traffic, however in the busier summer months direct trains run through to London Paddington. Newquay is also served by its own bus station, where buses are operated by First Kernow, and many towns within a 20 mile radius are served by direct buses. Cornwall Airport is also just a few miles away, and offers flights within the rest of the UK as well as flights to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, America and Canada.

Noted as being a really friendly place and a wonderful place to bring up children by current residents of the town, why not find your new home in Newquay today?
