   Living in Queensferry

Queensferry, also called South Queensferry - but known by residents simply as ‘The Ferry’ - is a town just west of Edinburgh. The city centre of Edinburgh is just 10 miles away, making the town ideal for those looking to commute into the city.

The town is located between the iconic Forth Bridges, one being a railway bridge and the other a road bridge. The railway bridge in particular was constructed over 125 years ago, and now stands as an impressive feat of engineering. It’s also now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town also serves as a good starting point in which to start a coastal walk by joining the John Muir Way, and is also close by to two stately homes. Both homes boast lovely grounds and impressive architecture, and both fall on the list of popular attractions to visit. A range of restaurants and bars popular with locals and tourists alike can also be found down the cobbled high street.

The town is noted for its friendly community as well as being based in a lovely location. Also noteworthy are the great schools in the area, both primary and secondary, as well as nurseries. There is also an early years centre offering care for youngsters up to the age of three years old - great for those looking to move with children.
