Day six of the famous Christmas carol brings us six geese a laying which of course calls for six awesome Christmas Goose Egg recipes for you to cook up a storm in your new home! 

So without further ado, here they are...

Roasted Spiced Goose 

A Dickensian Christmas staple – Roast Goose is a rich and indulgent alternative to the nation’s favourite of Turkey. You probably won’t need six of them though!

Goose Egg Chocolate and Raspberry Christmas Brownies 

You can never have too much chocolate at Christmas and these brownies are sure to be a hit with adults and kids alike. Goose Eggs are a great ingredient for chocolate brownies as their dense consistency will keep the brownies super moist and fudgy. The addition of raspberries will cut through the amount of chocolate and make them a little less sickly. Sprinkle with a dusting of icing sugar for an extra special festive twist.

Scrambled Goose Eggs with Smoked Salmon

Goose Eggs are much larger and richer than chicken eggs which make them a great choice for a luxurious Christmas brunch.

Simply whisk up the one goose egg per person with a splash of double cream (it is Christmas after all) and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Cook the scrambled egg mixture on a medium heat until fluffy and cooked through. As the consistency of the egg is denser then chicken eggs they will take longer.

Toast some Rye or Soda Bread – the slight bitterness from the breads will help cut through the richness of the Goose Egg. Add the scrambled eggs to the toast and top with smoked salmon and dill.

Boiled Goose Egg with Asparagus Soldiers

Goose Eggs are larger than chicken eggs and therefore take longer to cook – around 10 minutes for a soft boil.
For a Christmas breakfast treat try soft boiling a Goose egg and serving with freshly cooked Asparagus soldiers.
