High Demand For Hauxton Homes

The first anniversary of show homes opening in the Cambridgeshire village of Hauxton was a double celebration for Redrow – the housebuilder has clocked up more than 70 sales in the area.

Between them, Cobden Gardens and Sanderson Manor, Redrow’s neighbouring developments in Hauxton, feature a good choice of traditional looking designs from the sought-after Heritage Collection of Arts & Crafts influenced homes.

Boasting an abundance of character and a location that offers the best of both worlds – the village is just five miles from Cambridge city centre – it’s no surprise that the properties are proving popular.

Almost all of the homes at the Cobden Gardens phase have now been sold, with the final few properties subject to ‘early bird’ reservations – giving buyers first refusal when they’re released on to the market.

Over at Sanderson Manor there are four and five-bedroom designs available, with current prices from £596,950 to £799,950.

Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “Hauxton Meadows offers the best of both worlds, with the peace and quiet of village life combined with easy access into the centre of Cambridge and commuter access to London, so it isn’t surprising that the homes are in demand.

“It’s just over a year since we opened the show homes and we’ve now sold more than 70 properties across the two outlets, with several others subject to ‘early bird’ reservations. Around 50 of the homes are now occupied and as more people have moved in and a new community has begun to blossom we’ve seen an increase in enquiries.

“A lot of the homes being built in and around Cambridge are very contemporary in their design and so when people visit our show homes they’re pleasantly surprised to see that they look very traditional from the outside. But while they have the character of ‘period’ properties, they also benefit from the low maintenance, energy efficiency and ease of living that a brand new home offers. The location and the design of our homes make them particularly well-suited to family living.”

All of the homes at Hauxton Meadows are designed to be family-friendly with open plan layouts that put the kitchen at the heart of family life. Master bedrooms benefit from the modern day essential en-suite, with larger designs also including an en-suite to the second bedroom. Recognising that many people now spend at least some of their working week working at home, some of the properties also feature a dedicated study.
