Chester homebuyers who expand their search by just a few miles could find that their money goes further.

Based on Land Registry figures, Rightmove suggests that the average price paid for a detached home in Chester last year was £338,360.

Meanwhile, only 10 minutes away from the city centre by car, Elan Homes has detached designs available at Westminster Place, from £274,995.
