Redrow Employees Put Their Trust In The Company

Redrow staff spend their working lives perfecting and promoting other people’s dream homes – but they are more than happy to put their money where their mouth is!

Indeed, if the proof of the pudding is in the eating, then four Yorkshire workers are enjoying their just desserts, after cementing their trust in the company by buying the homes themselves.
“It backs up our belief and confidence that Redrow homes are the best,” said Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire). “In terms of design, quality and added value we are sure they can’t be beaten and, while we ask people to take our word for it and view our homes to see for themselves, they can also take this ‘added evidence’ into account.
“The people who work for Redrow Homes want to live in them too.  That speaks volumes.”
Sales consultant Alexandra Parkinson, 29, has invested in a four-bedroom detached Henley style property at The Rectory in Newton Kyme, near Boston Spa.
Alex, who is based at The Green in Horsforth, believed it was the perfect place for a family home for herself and her family – husband Andrew, 34, and little boy Jack, two. They are due to be settled in just in time for Christmas.

She said: "Our first home was in Tadcaster, we have lived here for the last three years and we love the area. However when Jack arrived we knew we would need  a larger home and a bigger garden but we really wanted to stay in the same location for the schools.
“Knowing the amazing quality, contemporary design and excellent customer care, I really wanted a Redrow home from the start but my husband, who is in the property industry, was set against new builds and wanted a project....until I lured him into a show home and his mind soon changed! We love the size and space, the amazing kitchen/dining/family area, and the open plan aspect was just the ‘wow’ factor we were looking for.
“We chose the development because of the good local schools and its proximity to Leeds and York. My husband moved around a lot when he was young but I didn’t and we think it’s important to build roots in a family home where we can get to know the neighbours and be part of a close community.  This is the perfect place for our ‘forever home’ and we couldn't be happier!"
Lee Middleton, 43, a customer service manager bought his four-bedroom Stratford at Nostell Fields, Crofton.  He says: “This is the first property I have bought because I have been fairly ‘nomadic’ with my job, living in different countries – myself and my wife Justyna lived in the French Alps for five years running a bespoke catering company.
“Now we have a two-year-old daughter Hannah and another baby on the way we thought it was time to put roots down. We had initially thought about renting as it’s what we’re used to and, to be honest, we didn’t know if we could afford to buy.
“But we struggled to find the right property to rent so we started looking at Redrow. They were developing in the areas we loved, I know the product and like the design. The Help to Buy scheme - which offers a government-backed 20% equity loan interest free for five years and allows just a 5% deposit – made it affordable. It also  enabled us to future-proof ourselves, investing in a family home that will be big enough now and in the years to come.”

Senior land manager David Gilling, 32, didn’t have to think twice about buying a Redrow home for himself and new wife, Steph.
They moved into a four-bedroom Cambridge at The Green, Horsforth, just a few weeks before their September wedding, and they reckon it is perfect for them now and in the future should children come along.
“I have worked for other property companies, so I am aware of the quality of competing builders,” said David. “But Redrow is way ahead of the competition”.
“We were initially going through the process of buying a property in North Leeds but it would have been a big renovation project, so when I started working for Redrow in the New Year and the house we are in became available, we changed the plan.
“We used Help to Buy too, so our out-goings are similar to what they would have been with the other, older property, but with all the benefits of a new-build – and without the hassle of a ‘project’.
“Horsforth is close to all our friends, which is what we wanted, the house we bought is in a great location with a south west facing garden, we loved the idea of the open plan kitchen and family area downstairs and the separate lounge - and I was confident of the quality.”
After renting throughout university and afterwards, Christopher Peatfield is a first-time buyer. The Redrow senior designer has bought a Warwick three-bedroom detached house at Windsor Park in Wakefield.
Christopher, 28, says he chose the Warwick because “it has everything I want from a house”; but he considered more than style and design before he signed on the dotted line.
“First and foremost I know that Redrow homes are an extremely high quality product – that was a big selling factor for me, especially having worked for the company and seeing the effort and time people put in into making that the case,” said Christopher.

“I have trust and confidence in Redrow which is paramount.”
He added: “I love the open plan design, the kitchen and dining area and the ability to open up the doors into the garden in the summer and, having moved a lot, it is in Wakefield where I am originally from and where family and friends – and now work – are too.  It’s perfect.”
There are a number of Redrow developments across the Yorkshire region, offering two to five-bedroom homes in a variety of styles and designs, all with the trusted Redrow quality. For information visit
