Yorkshire Buyers Full Of Praise For Redrow's Regent Collection

Pleasing period features, an ageless elegance and lots of lovely space, are just some of the compliments being paid to Redrow’s latest classic homes style.

The Georgian-influenced Regent Collection comes hot on the heels of the company’s award-winning Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection, and it is proving to be just as popular and equally admired.

“Redrow is constantly looking at the designs of its homes and improving the choice available,” said Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire). “You can’t stand still and, just as homeowners will constantly look to update and restyle their houses, so too do we.

“We don’t want to replace homes which are popular and in great demand, we simply wish to provide an even greater choice, with style at the heart of anything we offer. And that’s how our Regent Collection has evolved.”

Since its unveiling at St Andrew’s Place, in Newton Kyme, the Regent Collection can now be found at an increasing number of Redrow developments across England and Wales, including Lancaster Mews in York and Devonshire Gardens in Harrogate.

The collection evokes the classic Georgian-style architecture of the Regency period with impressive characterful frontages which create a distinct sense of grandeur while, inside, each home boasts a contemporary interior with high quality fixtures and fittings.

And Yorkshire buyers who have already got the keys to homes from this superb period collection are full of praise, having recently taken part in a focus group designed to help shape further refinement of the range.

Marketing manager Caroline Simpson, 24, bought a York style property at St Andrew’s Place with partner Nick Lambert, 29.

The York is a traditional four-bedroom townhouse with a large kitchen and dining area, separate lounge and laundry area on the ground floor, three bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and a master bedroom with en-suite spread across the whole of the top floor.

“The York townhouse won us over partly because of the symmetrical look of the home outside; the clean lines appealed to us and it has such elegance,” said Caroline.

“Both Nick and I are from the area and wanted to stay here. We loved this house because of the kitchen and dining area with the French doors which open out onto the garden, we spend most of our time in here and it’s great when friends come. That’s when it comes into its own. It was this part of the house which sold it to us, and we love it.”

Others who took part in the focus group cited low maintenance, build quality, practical layouts, a combination of space and cosiness and the kitchen at the ‘hub’ of the home.

Picture framer Mandy Brown is another delighted York homeowner at St Andrews Place. She and partner Kevin Traill, a 51-year-old construction worker, moved into their home just over a year ago and could not adore it more. “We loved the period style of the home and the street has a really classic air.

“Inside we love the kitchen and dining area and the lounge, which is a good size while still cosy enough to relax in and curl up on the sofa watching the telly. But the real wow factor for us was the top floor which is the master bedroom and en-suite. I know some reserve that for guests but there was no way we were letting anyone else have that – it’s stunning and it’s ours!”

There are four-bedroom properties from the Regent Collection currently available from £289,950 at Lancaster Mews, York, with three and five-bedroom homes coming soon; and the collection can also be found at Devonshire Gardens, off Claro Road, in Harrogate, with four and five-bedroom homes currently available from £348,950 and more three-bedroom properties to be released.
